Under guidance of the Area Director, the Experience Manager provides ongoing recruitment, training,
and mentoring to volunteers and parents by supporting them in the delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership
Experience (GSLE) programs in keeping with GSCSA’s mission, vision, culture, and strategy. Serves as the
primary point of contact for volunteers within the assigned region(s). Collaborates with volunteers to
develop and implement initiatives that increase girl participation, address girl needs within local
communities, and target underserved populations as identified and prioritized within each community.
Utilizes strong command of Girl Scout knowledge to build exceptional volunteer teams, establish an
effective communication plan, and present and promote Council program offerings (including the fall
and cookie product programs) as well as provide adult learning opportunities. Assists with measurable
outcome evaluation of GSLE programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Membership Pipeline
• Recruits, develops, mentors, supports, and monitors geographically assigned troop and service
unit volunteers through frequent contacts to ensure consistency of program quality and
retention of girl and adult membership in keeping with GSCSA’s mission, vision, culture, and
strategy.
• Presents the features and benefits of Girl Scouting to potential girl and adult members through
all forms of communication.
• Maintains monthly reports to track and evaluate progress toward assigned membership
recruitment, membership retention, program quality, and customer service goals, developing or
altering action plans to meet set goals.
Volunteer Development
• Assures continuity of Girl Scout programs through placing, training, developing, and recognizing
service unit and troop volunteers.
• Ensures volunteers receive required training and have opportunities for additional volunteer
development beyond required training.
• Ensures volunteers feel appreciated through frequent and thoughtful communication and
strong customer service.
• Facilitates resolutions to volunteer-based conflict management issues, escalating to the
appropriate staff member when necessary.
• Provides constructive feedback regarding volunteer performance as needed.
• Develops and implements annual review and recognition plans for volunteers in assigned area.
• Attends area volunteer meetings, service unit meetings, and troop meetings at frequency
determined by current goals and action plans.
• Serves as primary volunteer contact at all times, including during the fall product and cookie
programs, maintaining strong cross-functional relationships with Product and Retail Sales.
Program Quality
• Encourages outcomes-based programming and mentors volunteers in effective delivery of the
GSLE.
• Coordinates and facilitates program trainings for girls and volunteers including, but not limited
to, high awards training, fall product training, and cookie program training.
• Supports evaluation process as defined by GSCSA to ensure timely completion of outcome
components including, but not limited to, observation, survey, and interview.
Community Engagement
• Builds, develops and empowers service unit teams to support troop level volunteers and ensure
continuity of Girl Scout program.
• Works in partnership with area staff and volunteer team to identify gaps in service within
geographic area and develop and execute a plan to ensure that GSCSA membership is reflective
of the diversity of the assigned area.
• Seeks and maintains relationships with schools, churches, and community centers to meet the
needs of underserved populations.
• Maintains and enhances relationships with United Ways and other funding partners in
collaboration with Philanthropy, giving presentations and preparing materials to support
funding efforts as requested.
• Other
• Achieves financial objectives and provides information needed for budget development as
assigned.
• Participates fully in cross-functional assignments for the Council’s key performance indicators
(including, but not limited to, recruitment, retention, philanthropy, and product programs).

Forestry Technician GS-462-04
The Cherokee National Forest, Unaka Ranger District is seeking to hire three self-motivated and
energetic individuals to be a part of a seasonal trail crew. These will be zone positions working on both
the Unaka and Watauga Districts, but will be based on the Unaka District in Greeneville, TN. They will
work under the supervision of the Unaka Ranger Natural Resource Program Manager. Daily work will be
directed by a GS7 Trails Technician. Incumbents will also work with a wide variety of volunteers. The
duty station for these positions is Greeneville, TN. Weekend work may be required. A driver’s license is
required. Work will involve extended hours in an outdoor environment. Chainsaw experience is
beneficial for hiring and certification will be required if hired. Cross training opportunities are available.
Vacancy Announcement:
These are SEASONAL TEMPORARY positions with a proposed maximum six month tour schedule (not to
exceed 1039 hours). The anticipated start date for these positions is March 1 through September 30,
depending on funding levels. The work is 40 hours a week, the pay scale for the GS-4 is in the $14.00 an
hour range.
Major Duties:
• Serves as a member of a trails team that maintains, repairs, and builds trail.
• Builds trails with gravel and associated materials, restores impacted areas, and replaces signage
as needed.
• Prepares construction materials and ensures proper tool maintenance
• May perform trail log, condition, and prescription surveys.
• Explains regulations concerning trails maintenance specific to the Wilderness Act. Inspects
assigned areas to determine compliance with regulations or specifications.
• Oversees routine maintenance of user created trails at dispersed recreation sites; including
cleanup and naturalizing.
• May interact with forest visitors and when assigned conduct conservation education programs,
such as guided trail walks.
• Work closely with trail volunteers and may help instruct them on proper trail maintenance
procedures.

About the Forest
The Cherokee National Forest is located in East Tennessee, extending from Chattanooga to Bristol. The
Forest covers approximately 635,000 acres and lies along the state’s border with North Carolina in the
Southern Appalachian Mountains. The Cherokee is comprised of four ranger districts, two located south
of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and two north of the Park. The Watauga and Unaka Ranger
Districts are located north of the Park, in the northeast corner of Tennessee; these two districts
compromise the North Zone.

Test Technician
PURPOSE OF JOB: To electrically test, troubleshoot and perform a quality assurance inspection on the
equipment manufactured at Line Power Manufacturing.
UNUSUAL ENVIRONMENT FACTORS: Normal manufacturing environment with some dust and noise.
Voltages up to 100,000 volts. Troubleshoot energized circuits with 120 volts present.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS TO ACCOMPLISH CENTRAL PURPOSE:
1. Comprehend and follow shop procedures, standard practice instructions, prints, diagrams and
other written and verbal instructions.
2. Manipulate apparatus and components to required workstations, equipment, stations and
positions.
3. Able to use hand tools and air tools.
4. Determine proper method for testing various components.
5. Complete testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of simple to complex electrical, electronic,
and mechanical components and verify proper or faulty components.
6. Interpret documented engineering and customer specifications and quality inspection
requirements.
7. Able to determine quality of workmanship as well as operation and function of electrical circuits
8. Assist with special work assignments as assigned by the Area Manager or designee with
appropriate instruction and supervision provided.
9. Comprehend and observe all safety and quality standards and participate in Kaizan and Area

10. Work with Engineering and design personnel to help solve problems and correct documentation
for future use.
11. Using manual tools, occasional solvents, and cleaning supplies to maintain a clean and orderly

IT Technician

SCOPE OF POSITION
The IT Technician position is responsible for being the first point of contact for all customers of
Information Systems. The analyst is responsible for recording the details of reported IT service issues
and service requests, and working to either restore service as quickly as possible or alerting and/or
escalating them to the appropriate specialist support groups. The position requires technical
troubleshooting abilities and excellent customer service skills.
Primary Responsibilities and Activities
• Triage issues and service requests via phone, e-mail, online, chat, etc..
• Troubleshoot the end user’s issue and resolve upon the first contact, when possible.
• Accurately record and document all details of the issue or service request, including

employee in this class performs a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled equipment maintenance work.
This class differs from Equipment Service Worker in that an incumbent of the latter performs routine
maintenance of vehicles and assists equipment mechanics with the repair of equipment. This class
differs from Equipment Mechanic 2 in that an incumbent of the latter either supervises all staff at a
small garage or leads staff at a large garage.

A Day in the Life
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for providing assistance in the maintenance of equipment and

and electrical systems of industrial establishment, using hand tools and power tools.

Job Requirements:
Self-starter that can work in a team environment
· Provide end user desktop/phone support to determine and resolve end user support
issues
· Good communications, customer service and basic accounting skills
· Install hardware and customized software on-site
· Ability to train customers in use of software and hardware
· Must live within driving distance of our office, we do not do remote work
· Knowledge, or ability to learn, basic command line functions for Windows and Linux
servers
· Manage projects, knowledge of software development life cycle, gathering technical
data, creation of requirements documentation (specifically dealing with SRS
documentation, Use Cases, and UML Diagrams) and basic functional understanding of
relational databases required
· Perform Quality Assurance on new software
· Some overnight travel will be necessary (company vehicles and credit cards are provided
for expenses, plus a daily perdiem for food, etc.)
· A 4 year degree is highly preferred but not required (higher education is a plus)

Electrical Drafting Technician
High school diploma and course work in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification. Associate's
degree in computer aided drafting and design desirable. Entry-level position (zero to two years of
professional drafting experience). Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written & verbal
communication skills. Previous internship and/or related consulting experience preferred. Mastered
basic commands of at least one type of CAD system (ability to occasionally use higher-level commands,
timesaving programs and routines).
This position is responsible for revising existing drawings and preparing drawings of basic components
from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketches. This position successfully plots
drawings; learns and follows company and client drafting standards and procedures; learns the practices
of a selected discipline. Other duties as assigned.

Industrial Electronics Technician: This position includes troubleshooting PLC controlled presses and CNC
machine centers, data highway, SCR power controls, 3-phase motors and controllers, conveyor systems,
induction heaters and hydraulic/pneumatic systems in a heavy industrial environment. An Associate
Degree in Electronics or equivalent training is a minimum requirement. Experience with Allen Bradley
500 Series and RS Logic software preferred.
TOOL & DIE MAKER: Individuals in this position will work with the latest in CNC equipment to
manufacture and maintain forge die tooling. This position requires hands-on experience in the
programming, set-up and operation of this equipment. Certification in the tool-making field is preferred.

FORGE DIE SERVICE TECH: Individuals in this position will work on die repair and set up tooling. Good
