Alberta was amember of St. James Salem UnitedChurch of Christ where she playedpiano and organ, sang in the choirand played bells. She enjoyedsinging duets with her sister, cooking,baking, sending cards and spendingtime with family.
She is survived by her husband,Albert, one son, Albert E. (Kathy)Smith, Jr. of Francesville, one daugh-ter, Rosa (Brian) Dahn of Winamac,Indiana, five grandchildren, two sis-ters: Minnie Rater Ledford and MaryCatherine Fitz Becker, both ofWinamac and two brothers: William(Kay) Rater of Monon, Indiana andWayne (Judy) Fitz of Winamac. Shewas preceded in death by one grand-son, Caleb Michael Smith and onesister, Lorna DePoy.
Services were held Sunday,November 19, at St. James SalemUnited Church of Christ, with Rev.Judith Doll and Rev. Edward Clarkofficiating. Burial was in the RoselandCemetery, Francesville. Richard was thecurator of his own military museumand was a master craftsman inwoodworking. He loved to hunt, fishand garden.Services were held Saturday,November 18, at St. MatthewLutheran Church, with Dr. JosephLoftis officiating. Mary Ann was a talented seam-stress and true homemaker whoenjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting,candy making, flower gardening,canning, socializing, playing cardsand Yahtzee. She also loved to trav-el, going to the casino and listening tolive music.
She is survived by one daughter,Julie A. (Sam) Hicks of LaGrange,Indiana, six grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren and one sister, Olive P.Dalka of Medaryville, Indiana. Shewas preceded in death by threebrothers: Willard A., Bruce E. andJames K. Hauser.

Bill was a 1951 graduate of PulaskiHigh School. He was a veteran of theUS Army, having served during theKorean War. He had been a truckdriver for over 30 years for JonesChemical and was an avid car collec-tor. Bill was a member of theFrancesville First Christian Churchand the VFW Post #1728 inWinamac, Indiana. He loved spend-ing time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen,two sons: Victor (Charlotte) Raterand Mitchell Rater and one daughter,Shelly Steinkamp, all of Monon, fourgrandchildren, eleven great grand-children, three great great grandchil-dren, three sisters: Ann RaterCowger, Minnie Rater Ledford andMary Catherine Fitz Becker and onebrother, Wayne (Judy) Fitz. He waspreceded in death by one son,Anthony Thomas Rater, three sis-ters: Lorna DePoy, Alberta Smith andGertrude Smirniotis and two broth-ers: John and Bob Rater.
