YEAR 3 HOME LEARNINGWRITING
Just before school closed, we learnt about persuasive language. Your learning journeys will have some tips for convincing people! We looked at different types of leaflets.
Make your own leaflet persuading people to make healthy choices at the moment. Maybe one page could be about healthy food or nice things to cook, a page about games (away from a screen), a page for dealing with arguments with family members and one about being helpful at home? Add all the features of a good, persuasive leaflet: include subheadings, pictures and different types of sentences...some ‘Did you know?’ ones too. Have fun!
Dear Parents,
Here are some learning activities for the week beginning Monday 30th March - Friday 3rd April.
MATHS
Please access the below link and choose some activities for revision about telling the time:
https://www.topmarks.co.uk/Search.aspx?q=telling+time

Another time task has been set on mymaths. There is also another task encompassing all the topics we’ve looked at so far with measurement including: perimeter, money problems and time.school username = finchley
school password = mymaths
If you don’t know your personal username and password then you can still complete the tasks using the practise tab. Your teachers can see when you do these activities. Counting in multiples

Count from 0 in multiples of 4.
Count from 0 in multiples of 8.To start you off, choose the number of steps you want to count up in from the link below:
DAILY READING
Enjoy your reading! You need to read every single day. We will check and ask you to write book reviews. Please also use your Bug Club reading comprehension activities at:
www.activelearnprimary.co.uk
Teachers can see when you have completed these. You have a new username and password. The school code is still mpwr.
SPAG
www.spellingframe.co.uk
In the year 3 and 4 section, try the sections about suffixes. We learnt about suffixes when we read ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’.
Try spelling rules 1, 7, 8, 11 and 12.
Spanish
Please look at your class home page for some ideas on activities to help practise your Spanish!
https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/saucerSorter/
Or you can use the 100 square to help you (link below):https://www.primarygames.co.uk/pg2/splat/splatsq100.htmlTimes Tables
Go online and practise your 3, 4 and 8 times tables.

Drama
Choose a book you like (fiction). Choose two characters who have an interesting conversation in the story. Make a simple ‘puppet’ of each...it can be as easy as a paper drawing attached to a pencil.
Practise acting out their conversation. Do the voices to show how they are feeling. When you are ready, ask someone to watch the ‘scene’.
Extension: Create your own characters for a story of your own. You could use toys you have, or make more puppets.
Art
Shadow Art
For this activity you can use pencils, paint, chalks or any other artistic tools and of course, you will need sunshine! It might work from the sunlight coming through a window. A book, clipboard or something to lean on is helpful.
Ask an adult to let you choose an object and draw around the shadow. You can do this more than once throughout the day and see how the shadow changes shape and position.
Computing
Below is part of a poem called ‘Spring Morning’ by AA.Milne. See if you can open a word document, type this part and change the following characteritics of the font:
1. Make the title bold.
2. Make the first word in each line in italics.
3. Choose a line and change the colour of each word.
4. Change the font type to: Bradley Hand ITC
