WEATHER OUTLOOK OVER ABUJA FOR 13th AUGUST 2015 FROM NIMET_COSMO MODEL

Light morning showers were experienced over some parts of the FCT with heavy afternoon rains stretching into the evening today. For tomorrow, 13th August, 2015, the atmosphere is expected to be relatively stable however localized afternoon rains are expected due to rainfall advection from Jos Plateau region. NB: Of note are extreme rainfall observations from the 0900Z collectives within the River Benue catchment area:

Gombe 26.6mm

Ibi 16.0mm

Lokoja 38.8mm

Makurdi 174.1mm

And with the current oscillation of the ITD, it is expected that more rains are likely to occur over that region in the next few days especially with the planned release of excess water from the Lagdo Dam in Garoua, Cameroon.
