SCHOOL house : all work is homework
SCHOOL house is an adaptive reuse of Portland’s historic Wash-ington High School. The project completely restores Washington High School to its period of signifi-cance and inserts new program into the restored spaces as if they were removable boxes.
Stemming from the alternative housing movement of barns and warehouses, SCHOOL house pushes the boundary of what we call home.
While “keeping Portland weird,” the project is also a model for emergency housing concepts.
