1) Introduction
This document contains installation guidelines for VinPlus.

3) Minimum System Requirements a) Processor: Intel® Core 2 Duo or equivalent b) RAM: 1 GB (2GB recommended) c) Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® Server / 2000 / XP / 7 – 32-bit (with latest Service
Pack) d) Microsoft® .Net Framework 2.0 (2.0.50727.42) e) Microsoft® Excel 2003 f) Microsoft® SQL Server® Express / 2005
4) Assumptions Microsoft® SQL Server® 2005 or SQL Server® Express is installed.
5) Installation Procedure a) Double click the setup file (with file extension .msi) to start installation. A window will
appear as below.
b) Click ‘Next’ as shown.

c) Read the End-User License Agreement and check ‘I accept the terms in the License
Agreement’ option. Click ‘Next’.

d) In the next screen (shown below), the installation can be customized by selecting or
omitting services such as Parser Service, Convert API Service, DLMS Service and DLMS
SANDS MRI Service. Click ‘Next’ once selection is completed.
e) Now click ‘Install’ to install the application.

f) The installation window will display progress as shown in the following screenshots.

g) Once installation of VinPlus is complete, the following window will appear.

h) Fill in the User ID, Password and Data Source as shown. If a new VinPlus database is to be
created, then select ‘Create New DB’ and select ‘Database File’ location using the Browse
button. Click ‘Start’.
If a VinPlus database is already present at the selected location, a message box will be
displayed as shown. Click ‘OK’.
The database file will be stored at selected database location and a new VinPlus database
will be created in selected “Data Source” as shown.
Note: The user ID and password details of Microsoft® SQL Server® that VinPlus uses
will be as per the database configuration file. Any changes in the database
configuration should be updated in config.ini file of VinPlus through ‘Edit
Configuration’ in VinPlus.

i) If an existing VinPlus database needs to be updated, select ‘Update Existing DB’. Click ‘OK’
on the pop-up message box. Click ‘Start’ button. Click ‘OK’. The existing VinPlus database
will be updated without deleting existing data.

Note: ‘Update Existing DB’ option is applicable only VinPlus versions released after
Version 1.0 Release 12. For VinPlus Version 1.0 Release 12and below, please select
‘Create New DB’.
Note:
i. Select Data Source as ‘(local)’ if SQL Server Standard/Enterprise editions are
installed. Select ‘.\SQLExpress’ as Data Source only if SQL Server Express edition
is installed.

ii. SQL Server needs full access to the selected database path. The database file
should have administrative rights and it should not be shared, compressed or
password protected.
j) After step g, if a database should not be created, then click ‘Skip’ as shown.
k) If User ID or Password fields are empty and ‘Skip’ is clicked, a message box will be displayed
as shown. Click ‘Yes’. Another message box will be displayed. Click ‘OK’. User ID and
password needs to be updated manually in the VinPlus configuration file.

l) Click ‘Finish’ to complete the installation.

m) After installation is complete, the folders for Convert API and Parser operations will be
created at the VinPlus installation location. They will be named ‘Convert’ and ‘Parser’
respectively. Initial configuration will be done automatically by the setup.
