•Dan Sen, a two stringed lute•Dan Tranh, a long zither•Dan Day, a lute with a long neck and 3 strings with a body shaped like a trapezoid•Dan Gao, a vertical violin with 2 strings and a coconut resonator•Dan Tam Thap Lue, a hammered dulcimer with 36 metal strings

This cultural music has its most of its music passed down by it being written down. The Vietnamese cultural music also has a scale, which would be the pentatonic scale (5 notes). However in the 1930s, is adopted the Western diatonic (seven notes).
