These days Beth is filled with confidence and excited about
her future. But not too long ago she had to move in with her
mother to escape an unhealthy relationship. Mom was a
great support but Beth knew she needed to start building a
new life for herself. A friend told her to call 2-1-1, a statewide
information and referral line. The specialist referred Beth
to several local agencies that put her on the path to picking
up the pieces. While one local counseling program helped
build her confidence, another helped build her resume and
interview skills. She landed a full-time job as a customer
service representative. She’s gaining confidence every day
and has a goal to get a college degree.
Thanks to the Community Impact Fund, United Way is
creating positive outcomes like Beth’s for thousands of
people across our region. Because one program can’t
address all the issues a person faces. That’s the power
of the Community Impact Fund: the best choice for a
better life.
