Overview of WORP Sync
GPS synchronization is an essential feature to support the co-location of multiple radios on a tower and within dense Rf environments.
Optimal network operation requires careful channel planning.
WORP Sync allows for interoperation with other vendors
Async operation is not centrally timed and allows for full burstability in each direction

Async (Autonomous vs Burstable)
Async operation can be used in two modes
Autonomous Mode
Uses internal Timer, not centralized
Frame Split option 30%-70% (Default 50/50)
This operation is used when co-channel (external) interference is not an issue,
and Base Stations will not be collocated.
Burstable Mode (WORP Sync Disabled)
WORP operation using proprietary polling protocol
Burstable up to maximum capacity of modulation

Tools and Best Practices
Physical Separation
3ft. vertical separation is required between units for optimal adjacent channel operation. (AB)
3ft. vertical separation and 6ft. horizontal separation is required for Co-channel operation. (ABAB). Practically, this operation can operate within 3’ of another transmitter.
Antenna orientation and alignment – Azimuth and tilting are very important calibrations when deploying for optimized configuration.
Each environment is unique so co-location will require field experience to understand limitations
Spectrum Analyzer and Advanced Spectrum Analyzer
Advance mode in Spectrum Analyzer is used to scan different channels and analyze the SNR values from different BSUs / SUs. Configure each link in the cluster with different interference free channels that are 20 MHz apart or more. Run the advanced spectrum analyzer on the SUs. The SU should receive a strong signal only from its BSU, and the signals if received from any other BSUs/ SUs should be with very low SNR.
