INTRODUCTIONTO
MODERN ALTERNATIVEFUEL VEHICLESAn alternative fuel vehicle is a vehicle that runs on afuel
other than traditional petroleum fuels (Petrol orDiesel).
It also refers to any technology of powering and
engine that
does not involve solely petroleum.
Examples : Electric car, Hybrid electric car, Solar
powered car.

WHAT IS A HYBRID?
The dictionary defines a hybrid as something of mixed
origin.
A hybrid vehicle is one that combines a smaller thannormal internal combustion gasoline engine with the
electric motor of an electric-powered vehicle.

HOWA HYBRID CAR WORKSRegenerative Braking. The electric motor applies resistance to thedrivetrain causing the wheels to slow down. In return, the energy from the
wheels turns the motor, which functions as a generator, converting energynormally wasted during coasting and braking into electricity, which isstored in a battery until needed by the electric motor.
Electric Motor Drive/Assist. The electric motor provides additional powerto assist the engine in accelerating, passing, or hill climbing. This allows asmaller, more efficient engine to be used. In some vehicles, the motoralone provides power for low-speed driving conditions where internalcombustion engines are least efficient.
Automatic Start/Shutoff. Automatically shuts off the engine when thevehicle comes to a stop and restarts it when the accelerator is pressed.This prevents wasted energy from idling.

WHAT ARE TRIBIDS
Tribrids are the third generation of alternative propulsion
vehicles. Second generation are the bivalent hybrid
vehicles with turbines.
Tribrids are hybrids that obtain additional energy from the
ambient environment (solar panel, windmill or soil).

HOW DO TRIBRID CARS WORK?
Tribrids work in much the same way as hybrids, except that
some portion of the energy required to power the vehicle
either has been (or is being) taken from the ambient
environment.
A free-energy capturing device, such as a solar panel,
windmill or sail, provides the tribrid vehicle with a source
of power that, if left un-captured, would otherwise simply
be lost to the atmosphere.

Set up Instructions:
These instructions will guide you the set up and operation ofthe T-1000 Tribrid Vehicle.
Cut the piece of tubing included into two 2 piece and two10 piece, attach the 10 pieces to the syringes and fill one
syringe with distilled water. You will need to hydrate themembrane inside the fuel cell in order to have some water
in the cell for electrolysis.

Now connect the tubing to the fuel cell as seen in the
image to the left. When placing the fuel cell on the car it is
important that the tubing with the syringes attached is
connected to the fuel cell at its lowest point. Also attach
the banana plug wires, red to red and black to black.

Slide the fuel cell onto the back of the chassis,
attachthe syringes to the holders on the chassis and
connect
the banana plugs to the lower connection onthe
chassis.

Insert the battery pack batteries into the battery pack andplace inside the holder on the chassis and connect the
wires to the front connection on the chassis.

Attach the solar panel on top and connect the wires to the top
connection on the chassis. The T-1000 is now ready to drive in
battery and solar mode and ready to create hydrogen for fuel cell
mode.
Attach all the power sources back to the chassis and chose your
power source . The first switch controls on and off the secondswitch selects your power source.

Soft, Light and Wind Friendly CarVENTILE takes everything we know about cars andthrows it out of the window.
The powertrain starts off innocently enough being agas/electric hybrid but theres a third system a giantfan. Air comes rushing in through the front, spins thefan situated beneath the battery and drives the car.

The Ventile concept vehicle, designed by Thierry Dumaine, is a far-fetched dream machine that harnesses wind power for motivation.
The Ventile, a gas-electric-wind hybrid tribrid (?), makes use of anenormous central fan spun by air rushing underneath the vehicle
to produce electricity required to power the concepts pair of rear-mounted electric motors. Four additional fans, which are actuallypart of the Ventiles unique wheels, send juice to the vehicles on-
board battery.

COMPARISION BETWEENHYBRID AND TRIBRID VEHICLES
Hybrids carry two sources of on-board energy . The primaryenergy source is most often some sort of liquid fuel (e.g.gasoline) that will in time be converted into mechanical powervia an engine of some sort.
The second source of energy on board a typical hybrid iselectricity. This electricity is manufactured on-board, mostoften via the turning of a mechanical generator . The resultantelectrical energy is then stored in batteries where it residesuntil supplied to an electric motor.
