Using RSS Feeds

Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication Set up an RSS reader like iGoogle. Sign in to Google with a Google

account. You can set up the theme, tabs, and specific feeds that you check.

Look for RSS icon in address bar or on page of Web site. When you click on the icon, you choose how you want to subscribe to the feed.

Set up custom RSS feeds on particular topics using Google News Use to keep up with news and trends, resources for current events

quizzes, easy access to news in class Your blogs will have their own RSS feeds; can use to repurpose content

in creative ways Create your own feed for your online content, podcasts, etc. (xml file

This is not a passing trend, a side item, or a nice extra. It's what we do.

Remember, communication is about technology and technology is about communication.

Don't be overwhelmed. The important thing is you get started, try new things, and have fun.
