The Capital of Eternal Spring is rather singular due to its healthy climate all year-round, thus any season is good to pay it a visit. Trujillo is, as well, the capital of the department of La Libertad, and the country’s third largest city. The zone was inhabited by two major ancient Peruvian civilizations, Moche and Chimú. This is why it enjoys a privileged position as an archaeological center,
since it has vestiges from both cultures from which remarkable discoveries continue being made. It was, subsequently, an important Viceregal and Republican city, as attested by its stately buildings. The marinera, the Peruvian Paso Horse breeding, the use of the Caballito de
totora for fishing, and the gastronomy are a legacy of the blending of the cultures that settled in these lands.
