The Wolf of Wall StreetDirected by Martin ScorseseBy Ed Chalk
Narrative and genre The wolf of Wall street is a crime drama/ dark comedy. It follows
corruption and crime through the concept of politicians and bankers.
This could be reflective of bankers and politicians today, there is always a suspicion that crime is involved.
The film is also based on a true story, Leonardo Di Caprio plays a real life motivational speaker and former investment banker. He was convicted of securities fraud and money laundering.
Though I haven't seen the film in full I know it uses some of Scorsese's typical conventions, for example continuous shots with lots going on as well as brutal violence.
