MESSAGE FROM THE LTG
Message from the LTG
Aloha Phoenixes!Yahoo!! Summer is finally here, and I’m sure that all of you are just as excited as I am to kick back, relax, and - that’s right - volunteer and serve your communities!
If you attended our Joint D28N/S/W June & July DCM, I hope you enjoyed the summer olympics! Congratulations to the teams that won, but everyone did an amazing job, and believe it or not, despite the amount of work that the Las Vegas Region 5 Team put in, we were ecstatic to have been given this opportunity!
Remember - there is no Division Council Meeting during the month of July, but keep on serving on! Just because school ended does not mean Key Club does - we phoenixes are always burning up the skies, because service never dies!
That’s it from me this month, Phoenixes! Thank you to everyone that attended the June DCM, as well as everyone that took the time to read this letter! See you next month!
With a Burning Passion,

LETTER FROM THE DNE
Letter from the DNE
Aloha Phoenixes!I hope you all are having a great summer so far and are making the most of it! I know I have! So far it's been really laid back for me, but with Key Club and friends, I am occu-pied. So I encourage you all to get out, have fun, and volunteer and serve at events within your community!
This past month, during the joint DCM, all clubs from Region 5 Las Vegas, gathered at Sunset Park to compete in the summer olympics. Despite being split up into teams with people you didn't know, you all worked together in order to complete a task for an event. You all did a wonderful job at show-ing off how great D28N is!
The month of June has been a laid back one; however don't forget about your responsibilities for the summer. Once school starts back up, I hope you all are ready to rev up your gears because we are going to make this 2016-2017 term, a fantastic year! Don't forget about the joint DCM in August that I mentioned in the first paragraph. Enjoy your summer!
With a Burning Passion,

REGION COLLEGE EXPO COORDINATOR
Region College Expo CoordinatorHey Phoenixes!I hope all of you are as excited for RTC as I am, however, one addition to RTC that we, the Region Five Las Vegas Team would like to make this year is to add a College Expo! Sound interest-ing? We hope so! The college expo would consist of colleges from all over the West Coast that would visit and present at our RTC to us Key Club members about Circle K International. Now, without getting into too much detail regarding Circle K, or CKI, it is essentially the collegiate level of Key Club! Currently, the Region Team is
looking for someone to contact the colleges, help organize the College Expo, and during RTC, assist us and the colleges from running the Expo. Although it will be a lot of work, I highly recommend all of you to apply. Keep in mind that we are picking ONE applicant from the Las Vegas half of Region 5, that means one person will be chosen from all the applicants from Divisions 28 North, South, and West! If you’re interested, direct your eyes over to the right for more information!

LVLUP EXPO
LVLUP EXPO
Noah Chong (A-TECH)
From early 2016 until May, I had the pleasure of co-organizing the LVL UP Expo fundraiser with my Tech Editor. At first, sales were slow, but as the months rolled by (in true procrastinator fashion) the sales came rolling in. Before we knew it, we had gone from fewer than 5 ticket sales to over 30 tickets in a span of a month! Spreading the word, organizing information and finalizing ticket sales was honestly a lot of fun and let me and my co-organizer take part in a relatively large fundraiser.
Of course, I had to get tickets as well since I had so much fun at last year’s LVL UP. Walking in, I was impressed at how much better organized and looking it was compared to last year. All the booths looked great and most were interactive, as well! I took part in raffles, shooting airsoft guns, and playing numerous retro arcade games in the venue’s Game Center. There was a store for everyone: anime lovers, cosplayers, gamers, hobbyists and collectors, you name it. On the
subject of gamers, this year, the tournament arena was moved from the panel rooms to its own area within the main floor, which was a great decision! Rather than leave the floor to enter a stuffy panel room, anyone could walk over to the tournament area and enjoy all the games being played (mostly Super Smash Brothers 4) at their own convenience. I personally spent a few hours just meeting and challenging new people at the free play Smash Bros. booths. The arena is also where LVL UP held their cosplay tournament, and honestly, I was blown away at the amount of work some people put into their outfits. Everyone looked amazing and you could tell these people had spent months perfecting their outfits.
All in all, LVL UP Expo was a great experience with amazing people, interesting panels and events. Next year, I’ll be definitely going! If you have any questions about the event, let me know. Just don’t ask how much I spent during those two days!

JUNE DCM
Joint June DCM“Today we had a joint DCM with Di-visions 28 North, West, and South. As usual, we had our division meet-ings within our re-spective division presenting excit-ing news and
awarding our members due to their passion, hard work, and dedication. After the serious business was ad-journed, we officially started our 2016 Key Club Summer Olympics! What can I say? IT WAS A BLAST! From the Poncho icebreaker, to the “egg” races, to the balloon tosses, to the water balloon races, it was great while it lasted! Today was a great day for everyone, from all three Las Vegas districts, creating a closer and stronger bond with a little friendly competition! What can I say, I truly can feel the sense of family, unity, and passion. Region 5, the definition of family.”
