Your chance to see this award-winning film, in the company
of the man himself.
Harvey Pekar, along with Joyce Brabner will be attending this
one off special screening of the Oscar® nominated ‘American
Splendor’, described by the Rolling Stone as “an exhilarating
blend of life, comics, actors and the cranky Pekar himself.” After
the screening, Donald Clarke, film critic with The Irish Times
will host a Q&A session with Harvey and Joyce.
‘American Splendor’ tells the true story of Harvey Pekar,
a hospital file clerk and a hilariously grumpy observer of life’s
strange and unpredictable pageant. Since 1976, the pages of
his comic book series ‘American Splendor’ have found Harvey
puzzling, fuming and marvelling over the minutiae of his day
to day existence.
“Movies like this seem to come out of nowhere, like freestanding miracles.”– Chicago Sun-Times
