Club Nights
Sorry this venue is not actually in Pakenham. However Brad is a PAC member who regularly represents PAC in Rallies.
Brad will discuss the Holden range, have a couple of Walkinshaw vehicles and have a GTS on display for the members to look
over.
Brad will also announce a spotters program and parts and service discounts on the night. As well as prizes and surprises with
supper.
So let’s show our appreciation of Brad’s invitation by having a record attendance on the night.
Monday 1 September— Visit to Brad Till’s Booran Holden
Venue—Holden showroom of Booran Holden 25 Lonsdale Street Dandenong at 8pm
P akenham Auto Club monthly meet ing guest speakers were members of the Victor ian Pol ice Cardinia Highway
Patrol , Paul Grat ion and Peter Henderson. They del ivered a most comprehensive presentat ion of their dut ies as Highway Patrol looking af ter our interests. They gave us this message for all drivers, from Police Highway Patrol. “Always keep left unless overtaking. As well as being courteous to other drivers, this facilitates traffic flow and reduces incidences of road rage”.We should all remember this, and pass it on to young people learning to drive.
Question time and some in-depth discussions followed. A special thankyou to Leading Senior Constable Andrew Jones for organising the evening. PAC members look forward to welcoming members of the Highway Patrol at events at the McGregor Road Complex where young club members will have the opportunity to interact with members of the Police Force.
Club Night Monday 1 September.
M eeting at our new “home” at Services Central 6B Henry St
Pakenham at 8pm. Guest speaker Nigel Green. Nigel runs a business specialising in auto hose replacement, particularly hydraulic and air conditioning. However in a previous life he was part of the formula 1 Arrows Team and this will be the centre of his illustrated presentation. At the conclusion he will answer questions on difficult to replace auto pressure piping and chat about life in a Formula 1 Team. Supper will be served after the meeting.

A Few Words …
T he emai l addresses I extracted from the membership database last month only included Ful l and Honorary Members—as Associate ( i .e. , fami ly) Members are not ent i t led to their own copy of the newslet ter under our Rules of Incorporat ion.
However, this rule was only there to save the club money when the only way of distributing the OilRag was by Australia Post. Now that we have email, I will change the method of extracting the email addresses so that all current members with email addresses receive a copy—and also get the reminder when membership is due.I’d like to welcome Peter Bryen to the Committee—Peter joined in time for our last meeting. This will be a very brief newsletter as there is very little that has been contributed; if it wasn’t for Glad Fish, there would be nothing. It is important to note that the September Club Night has had to be moved from Andrews Autos. Thanks to Brad Till for filling the breach at short notice and inviting us to Booran Holden in Dandenong.
Please send your articles, photos, etc. to [email protected] for inclusion in the next issue of OilRag.
