Ashley Handley-CollinsAssistant Project Manager
Tell us about your involvement with CWCL fundraising events?
Canary Wharf Contractors
Fund (CWCF) aims to raise
money and provide resources
and awareness for a range of worthy causes. Since
joining CWCL in 2012, I have been involved in several
fundraising events including football tournaments,
boat races and feeding the homeless. Each team
building event produces its own obstacles allowing
us to learn, grow and develop as a team.
Nick Bradley Construction Manager
Tell us about the social aspects of working at CWCL?
The growing team
culture is apparent at
CWCL. Dragon Boat racing, Leadership
seminars and other CWCL events helps to
maintain a good social scene and tight links
between projects and other members of
the company.
Steve RogersProject Manager - Architectural
What training opportunities have you been given and how has that helped you?
One of my greatest
achievements is becoming a
Chartered Member of CIOB which was an
invaluable experience. CWCL supported me
throughout the Professional Development
Programme by providing mentors to assist with my
portfolio. I was able to develop the full range of
construction and management competencies to
implement back into the workplace.
Sebastian Minskip Project Manager - Structural
What projects have you worked on and what are your current responsibilities?
My first responsibilities
on the Crossrail project were the procurement
and management of the sundry concrete and
steelwork packages which provided me with a
huge insight into the project and construction
process. My latest project involves the
management of the geotechnical and
structural packages under the 1 Bank Street
allowing me to put my experience and
knowledge gained into practice within the
multi-million pound construction package.

Ruxandra Pruteanu Assistant Project Manager
What knowledge and experience have you acquired through the scheme?
CWCL has given me the
opportunity to work on one
of the most iconic buildings
in London, the ‘Walkie Talkie’. Through this project I
have gained valuable knowledge and
understanding of the complexities in high rise
cladding installation. I am now looking forward to
the challenges that my new project ‘Southbank
Place’ will bring.
Daniel Thomas Project Manager - Architectural
What is your overall experience as a graduate?
Working for CWCL’s initial
graduate scheme has allowed me
to put into practice the skills I
learnt at University. My knowledge and experience has
expanded within the construction industry which
facilitated my path to become member of CIOB. I was
given the opportunity to work alongside experienced and
senior members of staff whilst working on 20 Fenchurch
Street. At times the project proved to be challenging
nonetheless beneficial to myself and the company.
Barbara CzajkaAssistant Project Manager
Why did you choose CWCL?
As a former undergraduate
summer placement student, I
have worked on large and
prestigious projects such as
the Crossrail station and now
Wood Wharf in teams of highly experienced and
passionate individuals. This has not only helped me
to gain invaluable skills but also inspired me to stay
with CWCL for the foreseeable future. The
company’s benefits are great; private healthcare,
pension scheme, gym membership, 24hr helpline
and many more.
Ozan Kurtulus Engineering Surveyor
How has training and development at CWCL helped you as a graduate?
CWCL provide a wide range of
training for example I have
attended Visual Basic training,
AutoCAD 3D, Presentation Skills and many more.
This has allowed me to develop both my technical
and personal skills and given me great confidence in
carrying out my work competently. I was also guided
throughout my journey to obtain my ICES membership
which I’m very proud of.
