Crane Garden Buildings is a family run business making timber buildings in Norfolk for nearly 50 years. We are proud to acknowledge that much of our trade is built around our reputation, and we firmly believe that this is because of the personal service we provide: from the design stage to installation, we make sure the customer always comes first, and is delighted with their new garden building.

Our buildings are exceptional and unrivalled: we source the best quality timber and materials for every stage of our building process, right down to the paint systems we use. We strive to make the best buildings possible, so we are always in the marketplace ensuring that any improvements in products, techniques and components are implemented by us straight away.

A traditional garden shed built to a high standard Solid and dependable, the Classic Range of sheds is built from Swedish shiplap of a higher quality than is traditionally used in the shed market. Hand built in our workshop, the Classic Range comes in seven standard sizes. (For a more bespoke service, please see our Superior Range).

Building Sizes & DesignWe offer a range of standard sized buildings, 1.2 x 1.8m (4 x 6’), 1.5 x 2.1m (5 x 7’), 1.8 x 1.8m (6 x 6’), 1.8 x 2.4m (6 x 8’), 1.8 x 3.0m (6 x 10’), 2.4 x 2.4m (8 x 8’), and 2.4 x 3.0m (8 x 10’) all available in either a pent or apex roof design, with windows where appropriate.

Heavy Duty FeltAll sheds in our Classic Range come with heavy duty felt on the roof; this is a thick, construction grade felt that is heat-bonded onto the roof with a propane torch to increase its longevity.

Toughened Safety GlassThis is a standard safety feature that is added to all of our Classic Sheds. This means that, if a window breaks, the glass won’t shatter into large pieces, but small, comparatively harmless pieces.

Design Features



GutteringBlack guttering is available as an option for your shed: if you want to protect windows and/or doors from water dripping from the roof, or you want to collect rainwater for your garden, this is a very useful feature to consider.

Extra features you can choose, also include…

WorkbenchA workbench will provide a sturdy platform from which to perform tasks if you’re using this space as a workshop or potting shed. It can also be used as a helpful storage area too.

Opening WindowsOpening windows will allow fresh air inside your shed, which is particularly helpful if you’re going to be spending a lot of time inside.


Paint FinishesYour building comes treated internally and externally with an attractive light oak preservative, protecting it against fungi and woodworm.

We also offer 3 additional paint finishes, specially selected to complement your garden environment.

This colour chart is designed to provide an indication of the colours in our palette. It cannot be taken as an exact replication of colour. However we are happy to send our paint swatch samples.

Stone Mint Moss




Base Requirements All our buildings require a level solid base of the correct size. Always get your new base laid by a professional. We supply a base service if you should require it.

If you have an existing hard base that is not level then our timber bases can be used on top and levelled by our Installers.

JoineryWithin our workshop, we house our own joinery works. Skilled carpenters make the doors and windows for all the buildings we produce to ensure that the quality we demand is met.

Our years of experience have taught us that buying in windows and doors is not ideal as they never fit quite properly. Having total control over the quality and finish of our buildings is of prime importance to us.



Delivery & Installation Our experienced and professional fitters deliver and install all our buildings FREE OF CHARGE.
