District Project One baby dies every

9 minutes from neonatal tetanus

On average, health education and a series of three

doses of tetanus vaccine cost $1.80

Kiwanis will help save or protect more than

61 million mothers and their future babies

28 countries remain at high risk for

MNT

160 babies die each day from neonatal

If a baby gets MNT, it will lose its mothers touch

No baby should lose their mothers touch

$1.80 can stop this.

The Two Dollar Plan:

If each person In the district brings in two dollars, we

will raise a total of $24,600

That is:

13,667 vaccinations

Estimated 13,667 lives saved

For the price of a cup of coffee

Why The Eliminate Project?

The answer to this is, every 9 minutes,

one child or mother dies from What is known as

MNT (Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus). This painful

disease steals the lives of 60,000 babies from

their families. In 30 countries around the world,

MNT takes on a large toll because of deliveries

taking place in unhygienic circumstances and

because no vaccination for the deadly infec-

tion is available. The effects of this infection is

excruciating. Tiny new born babies suffer re-

peated, painful convulsions and extreme sensi-

tivity to light and touch, turning the joy of child-

birth into a tragedy.

What we need to do as key clubbers, is to change this. As

part of the largest student led organizations in the world, we can

ELIMINATE this deadly infection. With just 3 does of a 60 cent

immunization, we can protect mothers who will in turn protect

their future offspring. That’s just $1.80, about the price of a small

coffee from Starbucks, or a small burger. Together with our

Kiwanis counterpart and UNICEF, we can end something that

can be prevented so easily.

“The simple idea of gathering over a million meals, or saving thousands

of lives in a week because of the money raised from the Eliminate

Project could not exist in a world without Key Club International. This

week reminded me that I am truly part of something bigger. KCI makes

a difference every day. In a single week I had the chance to

experience it all. As a first year ICON attendee I believe that this

experience will be ingrained in my mind for the rest of time.”

Cameron Franco

“Going to my first Key Club International Convention I didn't really know

what to expect. I didn't know what I was going to be doing, or the

many new people I would meet. I now know exactly what Key Club is,

the Key Club International Convention taught me how vast this

organization really is and the impact that we can make. If I had to sum

the International Convention into one word, it would be, unforgettable.

This is what the Key Club International Convention meant to me, and I

can't wait to go to Anaheim next year!” Jacob Goodwin

“Key Club's International Convention in Washington DC was truly

magnificent! I had the opportunity to, not only learn more about the

organization that all the attendees hold near and dear to their hearts,

but learn more about myself and who I am! Through different

workshops I was able to learn about some independent service

projects which I plan to take back to my home club! And words don't

describe how honored I am to have been elected as an International

Trustee for the coming year! I know there is no such thing as perfect,

but for me, Key Club's International Convention was about as perfect

as something can get!” Avery Hitchcock

“International Convention at Washington D.C., in short, changed my life.

Not only was I able to reconnect with friends from other districts I made

at last year's International Convention, but I was also elected as one of

the eleven International Trustees serving on the International Board.

Through rigorous caucus rooms, timed speeches, and questions upon

questions from every member at convention, KCDC 2013 was quite an

experience that I would never trade for anything in the world.” Alberto

Berisbetia

“ICON, an international convention that brings servant leaders from

all around the world to one place. Better yet, it brings together a

family of service, an family that I am so proud to call myself apart of. I

made some great friends, exchanged awesome projects, traded

pins, and helped make over a million meals for the hungry around the

world. I shared my deepest secrets to people at the beginning of this

trip didn't even know existed, and acted as support to so many that

had been just like me, so I guess you could say I had a good time.” -

Michael Blejski, Indiana District

“This was my first ICON and hopefully it won't be my last. ICON was

amazing! From the Kids Against Hunger volunteering, learning about the

Eliminate Project, and making new friends I didn't want the week to be

over. I'm so happy I went to ICON its not only an experience I'll never

forget but I know the friendships I've made the past week will last a

lifetime.” Samantha Miara
