No. 1: eBay
Total Engagement: 1,651,877 Followers: 295,596
Total Tweets: 1,652*Stats from Q4 of 2013
Out of all the impressive brands in the top 10, eBay had the highest amount of total engagement. Why? Maybe it’s that they have a very attentive fan base, or people just love deals or that they’re very good at content creation.

Total Engagement: 1,392,274
Followers: 10,284,879

MTV’s visual content, geared toward their young fan base, has propelled them into becoming one of the most engaging brands on Twitter. Although MTV may have come in 2nd place for total engagement, they have the most followers out of any brand in the top 10.

No. 3: Amazon
Total Engagement: 1,161,673
Followers: 882,550

Amazon’s ability to crack the top 3 most engaging brands on Twitter is a testament to the content they choose to share. Amazon only sent out 4 @Replies in Q4 of 2013, but their audience base clearly isn’t too concerned!

No. 4: Starbucks
Total Engagement: 985,500
Followers: 5,527,769

Starbucks, a social media great, landing on this list is no surprise. Starbuck’s gives their followers great content, and often asking for nothing in return. Only 15% of their Tweets include links.

McDonald’s does a great job at tapping into people’s everyday lives by highlighting holidays, current events and pop culture trends. Clearly, McDonald’s fan base is lovin’ it.

Followers: 562,532

Nintendo engages their audience by showcasing the hottest games, deals and trends. Additionally, since their audience is tech-savvy, they’re also more likely to be on Twitter and engaging with this brand.

No. 7: Pizza Hut

Followers: 673,808

Pizza Hut talks to their fans. They send, by far and away, the most @Replies and Tweets than any other brand in the top 10. Although their audience size is smaller than most of the other brands on this list, their fans certainly enjoy the personal attention. Oh, and their Tweets are also hilarious.

Google’s advantage is that they can pretty much Tweet about anything. From snow storm tips to the Grammys, Google provides rich, fun, and useful content that everybody enjoys and engages with.

Disney does a great job at curating content their fans care about. Whether it’s a Beauty & The Beast #TBT or a question about their latest movie, Disney’s content is what Disney fans care about. Disney made the top 10 despite sending only 1 @Reply in Q4 of 2013.

Followers: 1,164,052
Total Tweets: 2,515*Stats from Q4 of 2013
Nokia engages their audience by showcasing their products with visual content in their Tweets. But, as an electronics brand, Nokia probably has a similar advantage as Nintendo. Techies loves Twitter!
