are awarded based on academic achievement, financial need and extracurricular involvement. Grants, student

parents to assist in funding your college expenses.
SCHOLARSHIPSScholarships can be awarded based on academic, financial need, academic interest and other criteria. You’ll
automatically be considered for our scholarships upon applying for admission. Scholarships can come from
the university scholarships office, colleges, departments and external sources. applytexas.org
For Non-Resident Students: If you’re awarded a combined total of at least $1,000 in scholarships from
Texas Tech, you are eligible to pay in-state tuition during the academic year.
Texas Tech scholarships do not transfer to other institutions such as the TTU Health Sciences Center.
EXTERNAL SCHOLARSHIPSWe’ll process scholarships that are awarded to you from external sources such as local, civic, religious
organizations, hometown and high schools. Other sources to consider are the Texas Tech Alumni
Association (texastechalumni.org) and the Terry Foundation (terryfoundation.org). We encourage you to

TechTeach SCHOLARSHIPTechTeach is a fast-track, one-year, teacher preparation program. Students are considered for Proven
Achievers or Presidential Transfer scholarships. Documentation should be submitted by July 1. A detailed

Transfer Merit Scholarships are guaranteed for students who have transcripts and other required documents submitted by July 31 for Fall entry or January 5 for Spring entry. Scholarships are renewable for up to three consecutive years (six total terms). Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours; 9 must be TTU hours. Students with approved consortium agreements must take a minimum of 9 TTU hours. Transferable hours exclude credit hours from AP, CLEP, or military credits. Students must meet all criteria to qualify.

DETERMINED BY TEST SCORE
Presidential Merit scholarships are awarded to first time college students who are admitted with qualifying test scores and class rank by April 15th. Awards are renew-able for up to four consecutive years (eight total terms). Students must enroll in a minimum of 12 hours for fall / spring terms. GPA of less than 2.0 for any term results in automatic cancellation. *SAT is sum of critical reading and math only. *ACT composite score. No additional application is required for students who qualify.

RED RAIDER GUARANTEEIf you’re a resident of Texas and your family’s adjusted gross income is $40,000 or less,
you may qualify for this program which guarantees tuition and mandatory fees through
a combination of federal, state and institutional funds. To qualify, students must be an
incoming freshman or transfer student with an associate’s degree and be enrolled full
