Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,
Jump Rope For Heart On Tuesday, we held our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser. It was a fantastic
day as we were able to raise funds for a very worthy cause, the Heart
Foundation. Our school goal was to raise $2000. We exceeded our
expectations, raising just over $3500. We would like to thank Miss Sharpe and
Miss Lysandrou for their outstanding organisation of this event.
School Planning 2018—2020
As you would be aware, over the past three years we have been focusing
on our school’s three strategic directions; creating tomorrow’s leaders,
learners and citizens. We are now in the process of planning for our new
three year plan for 2018-2020 and are beginning to look at what our new
three strategic directions could be. For all of you who came to our Literacy
and Numeracy Week festivities, you have already been a part of this
planning process as you would have filled out a survey giving us very
valuable feedback about your thoughts on our school. We are going to
continue to invite our school community to be a part of this planning process
in Term 4 as your input is crucial when making decisions about the future
directions for our school.
Farewell Miss Robinson Unfortunately, today is Miss Robinson’s last day with 1/2B. Miss Robinson is an
intern from the University of Wollongong and she has been teaching the
students of 1/2B for the past six weeks. She has been an amazing and
valuable contribution to our staff and she will be missed. We wish Miss
Robinson all the very best in her future teaching career.
Responsible Pet Program Today, our K-2 students have participated in the Responsible Pet Program.
This was a great opportunity for our students to learn about how to be safe
when coming into contact with animals. They loved meeting Gerard the dog
and demonstrating how they can pat him safely.
Happy Holidays! It is rather hard to believe that we are now at the end of Term 3 and are
getting ready for all of the end of year fun. It has been yet another busy and
productive term in all of our classrooms. Holidays are a great time for all to
rest and rejuvenate, ready for the next term of powerful learning. Please
make sure you enjoy this time with your families and remain safe. We want to
see all of our Figtree Heights families back in wonderful health, with no
broken bones. Please also remember the holidays are busy times on our
roads and the importance of road safety reminders for your children.
Have a wonderful and relaxing holiday break!
Warm Regards,
Miss Emily Corcoran Relieving Principal
