Reverse Logistics – Value Proposition
Reverse Logistics is the process of planning, implementing, and managing the safe,
efficient and cost effective recovery of surplus equipment and material from both live
and redundant operating environments.
Value is recaptured by resale, re-use and recycling.
Examples of recovered aged hardware include multi-vendor Transmission, Central
Office Switching, Access, Wireless, CPE and Broadcast communications equipment.
Implementation of a recovery project offers a number of immediate benefits, including
multi-site footprint reduction, increased availability of space in centralized warehousing,
reduced energy consumption and associated OPEX savings.
Fully outsourced Reverse Logistics solutions provide comprehensive visibility of surplus
inventory, control of these assets and a strategic approach towards network lifecycle
management. Asset resale and recycling activities produce positive outcomes from
both a financial standpoint and with regards corporate environmental responsibilities.
Finally from an investment recovery perspective, DTC is able to offer its customers two
new on-going revenue streams; on material broken down for recycling and through
selected global secondary market resale.
