The Technology Services department Enterprise Communication Networks (ECN)
team, working with Layer3 Communications, Aruba HPE and Infratel, successfully
connected the Tanner mobile home park with wireless connectivity on May 23, 2018.
This level of connectivity provides students the same level of technology resources
and connectivity at both school and home. This is a pilot project that has been under
development for the past 7 months. The team is monitoring the pilot project carefully.
Read more about how the program is being used here in a Houston Chronicle article.

On June 28, 2018 Frankie visited Tanner mobile home park to test the wireless
signal. The Internet filtering was working beautifully as designed, as shown in this
example, which was captured during the onsite visit.
The wireless connectivity signal was excellent except on the north side of the mobile
home park (see #3 area). Frankie notified Layer3 Communications for further review.

On Tuesday, members of our team gave Stuart
Snow a tour of our Data Center 4 co-location
facility. Stuart as the senior leader of our
department has been instrumental in supporting
us and assuring we have funding with contracts signed. As
Greg Rhodes walked Stuart through each piece of
equipment, I reflect on watching Stuart’s eyes beam with
pride. We’ve accomplished what we set out to do! As we
prepare to move the last mission critical system, only our
team knows how complex this project has been. I am so
grateful for every person that has helped us - Frankie
