Knowledge and intelligence communities (KIC)
ObjectivesThe KICs will promote the production, dissemination and
exploitation of new knowledge products and best practices in the innovation sector, transforming the results of higher
education and research activities into commercially exploitable innovation
Set-upseven-fifteen years, at least three partners (two from EU)
308MEUR (for first three KICS)
TimeplanFirst two or three KICs selected January 2010
2009 dialogue with the stakeholders through seminars

Pilot projects (2006/2007-11.2009)
• BRIDGEsolving real world problems with high commercial value in nanomedicine
• COMPLEX-EIT embraces the complexity from nano to large electronic systems
• SUCCESSSearching unpredecented cooperations on climate and energy to ensure sustainability
• GASTgreen and safe road transportation

Objectives/Main deliverables
Collect and analyse practices in order to identify good practices for a cooperation model within the knowledge triangle
Create a pan European collaborations model
Test and validate some of the components of this new model
Disseminate the results of the projects to the wider innovation community

Analysis of strength and weaknessesout of the project description
Analysis of opportunities and threats out of the State-of-the-art
1. How can the network exploit each opportunity using its strengths?
2. How can the network exploit new opportunity by stopping its weaknesses?(e.g. One of the best strategies to realize partnerships with major European enterprises is to include in the network an industrial board)
3. How can the network defend against each threat using its strengths?
4. How can the network defend against each threat by stopping ist weaknesses?
