The Noosa District SHS JUNIOR SECONDARY PHILOSOPHY
Noosa District SHS Junior Secondary is a distinct phase of education that
specifically caters to the learning and emotional needs of young adolescents
(Years 7 – 9). Students are engaged in a holistic rigorous curriculum.
This ensures health, wellbeing and has high expectations of teachers, students
and parents.Our aim is to ensure that every student can thrive as life-long, resilient learners and be successful and valuable citizens.

• Select subjects you are good at and enjoy
• Discuss with your teachers and parents for recommendations
• Focus on your goals for success
• Use the work you have been doing in Planning for Excellence
• Talk to the Guidance Officer, your Form teacher, YLC’s, HODs, DP’s
• Ensure you set up for future pathways
DO NOT:
• Select subjects you think will be easy
• Select subjects just because your friends are doing them
• Select subjects that you don’t really like or have struggled with in the past
• Select subjects based on the teacher
• Select subjects that do not set you up for future pathways
