It 's misleading and cruel to raise false hopes claiming

that stem-cell therapies are just around the corner,

depending only on funding for embryonic research.

In any event, embryo research involves the destruction

of human l i fe, making i t ethical ly unacceptable.

Instead of funding embryo research, lreland should aim

to become a centre of excellence for adult stem-cell

research which is scientif ically promising and ethically

non-controversial.
