Stage One News ~ Term One, 201612 February 2016
Dear families,
Stage One students will be starting their Speaking and Listening program in Week 4 Term 1. Each week, on their allocated day your child will be encouraged to present a short Topic Talk. This term there will be a topic to discuss in relation to the History unit “Families Past and Present”.
Your child will be encouraged to speak clearly and confidently and use eye contact, stay on the topic and respond to questions appropriately. They are allowed to bring in items to enhance their news, however it must be related to the topic and a non-valuable/precious item. Your child will also be encouraged to respect others when speaking, giving eye contact and asking relevant questions when requested. Below is an overview till the end of term of what your child will need to talk about for their news session. Please assist your child in researching the topic and preparing for their presentation.
We appreciate your support of this important learning experience.
