WELCOME TO THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITIES OF
Deacon Steve Tabor Phone: 503.769.8089
‘’The Father’s Plan for Us’’ Before a building is constructed, an architect must complete a blueprint. Before a professional football team takes the field, the coaches have to device a game plan. And before we can make sense of our lives we need to see a blueprint; we need to know what the game pan is. Jesus presented that plan while he was here on this earth. He sent the Twelve on journeys to ex-tend his teaching, and he continues that teaching today through the Church. The truth is, however, that God’s plan is not an abstract or an ethereal idea. God’s plan is a person, the person of his Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus is like a blueprint which has taken on flesh and blood. Jesus is the plan for our lives. And because we are one with Christ in the Church, we share in his relationship with the Father. As he is the Eternal Son of the Father in the Trinity, so we have become sons and daughters of God in the Church. God is a family of Father and Son united by the love of the Holy Spirit. The Church is our spiritual family here on earth. We are born into this family by baptism and con-firmed as sons and daughters by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. And so because Chris is the blueprint, the plan for our lives, the liturgy never tires of presenting the Gospel to us in every mass. Over the course of three years on Sundays we cover virtually every word of the four Gospels-(of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John). In the Gospels we witness Jesus in action. We see our blueprint come alive in the person of God’s Son. We are presented with the ideal for correct living. And in receiving the body and the blood of the Lord in Holy Communion, we are strengthened to follow God’s plan for us... ‘’Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has bestowed on us in Christ every spiritual blessing in in the heavens!’’ Amen. Fr. Paul
