In response to feedback from parents, and to ensure that everyone in the Elstree UTC community is well connected, it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to the first ever edition of the Elstree UTC Spotlight - our new community bulletin. We will be sending the ‘Spotlight’ out to you fort-nightly with updates and essential information to make sure that communication between the college and our families is strong and frequent.strong and frequent.
It is now July and Elstree UTC is coming to the end of its 2nd academic year. During this summer holiday, repair works will be taking place to our sometimes leaky roof. This in-volves removing the glass ceiling! What a lovely and hopeful metaphor. It seems appropriate just now, as Elstree UTC moves out of its ‘start up’ phase and into a period of consol-idation as a leading college specialising behind the scenes in the multimedia arts and entertainments industries. The college community is growing again and refurbishments are being made to our college environment. We have new staff joining us and some who are moving on. We have a new leadership structure and a new development plan too. We are indeed removing the glass ceiling.
We are thrilled to welcome some new and excellent staff who are joining us in September as our college community expands a little further. We have appointed new leaders of Science, Production Arts and a Head of Sixth Form. We will also be welcoming new teachers in Art, Lighting Technology, Music, Drama, Science and English.
WWe have increased our professional partners and industry links too and are now working with BBC Elstree and The Royal Opera House.
PleasePlease read on and take note of the important information within this bulletin; we have results days approaching and we’re planning our celebration evening for next term where we can congratulate our leavers on what we know will be some pleasing exam results leading to successful university placements and job offers.
II will sign off with congratulations to all our leavers. We are dead proud of your accomplishments and look forward to seeing you on results day. I also wish good luck to our dance team (Elstree Force) who will be representing the UK at the world X street dance championships being held this summer in Glasgow.
II am really excited by what this coming academic year holds for Elstree UTC which continues to be a remarkably magical place within which to learn and create.

We would like to inform parents and guardians that EUTC MyFare cards which are damaged or lost through negligence/misuse will incur a £5 replace-ment fee. However cards which are genuinely faulty will be replaced by our IT Support team free of charge.
