Miss Barbados World Announces Title-Handover for 2012
The Miss Barbados World Organisation W: www.missbarbadosworldonline.com
Dear friends & well-wishers,
As many of you may know, this year's Miss World Competition has permanently taken a shift
from the traditional November date towards an earlier August finale. Due to the change, we
have chosen to forego the staging of a 2012 show. The Organisation, as well as its partners &
sponsors, have decided to select an ambassador to represent our island at the Miss World
Competition in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China in August 2012. The delegate is one who has
already been through the 2011 Miss Barbados World experience, and has therefore been
trained in etiquette, public speaking and has developed a successful charity project.
We have collectively assessed the 2011 delegates from first-runner up, based on their
aptitude, drive and continuation of their charity projects subsequent to the 2011 finale; their
current schedules have also been a major factor in our analysis.
We, the Organisation and its partners and sponsors, are confident that our new representative
possesses the poise, drive, and will be a stellar ambassador for our country on the world
stage. She is well trained and boasts a sound measure of genuineness and charisma; qualities
essential to undertaking the role of representing Barbados internationally. We therefore,
encourage you to welcome, support and celebrate with us, our new ambassador Miss Marielle
Wilkie, Miss Barbados World 2012.
To allow for an honourable term for our reigning Queen, Miss Barbados World 2011 Taisha Carrington, the title
handover will be made effective by way of a formal cocktail gala to be held in June 2012.
