Troubleshooting 52- 1TroubleshootingOverview 0The SONOLINE G20 system is equipped with the following tests, indicators, and error/warning messages to aid in system diagnostics: Built in self test (BIST)
BIST provides system fault information that isolates a fault down to the field replacement unit (FRU) level. The fault information is displayed on the screen when the error occurs, stored in the error log and on the hard disk drive (HDD), and can be copied to CD-ROM in delineated format for viewing on an external personal computer.
Power on self test (POST)POST tests the boot sequence of the system. The execution time of this test is 30 seconds. A progress bar is displayed on the screen while POST monitors the supply voltages. The supply voltage LEDs are located on the software regulator unit; view these LEDs to determine if the supply voltages are within specifications. POST can be configured to run at each power on, daily, weekly, or off.
LED indicatorsThe system is equipped with LEDs located on the I/O panel and the individual PCBs. These LEDs indicate the state of the system, displaying whether different system functions have passed or failed a test. An amber lit LED indicates a failure status and a green lit LED indicates a passing status. LEDs on the PCB indicate the power status.
S.M.A.R.T disk monitorThe G20 system checks the HHD performance through the S.M.A.R.T disk monitor. When an error or warning occurs, a message is displayed on the screen that lists the error or warning and how to remedy the situation. These events are logged and can be copied to CD-ROM in delineated format for viewing on an external personal computer.

LED Indicators 0
I/O Panel LED IndicatorsThe I/O panel is located on the left side of the system. There are nine LEDs labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and V. The V LED is defined as DC Power (+3.3 V). If this LED is in the Off state, there is no power for the system. There are two LED states; the first state monitors the system boot sequence and the second state monitors system function after the com-pletion of the boot sequence.SONOLINE G20 US06-102.840.01.02.02 Siemens01.05 sd
