created internal stability.
ECONOMIC IMPACT
● Industrial revolution in England affected the Indian industries.
● Indian product is great demand in European markets.● Indian industries were ruined.● Domestic Industries caused unemployment and
starvation to millions
LAND REVENUE
● Zamindari system● Ryotwari system ● Mahalwari system
ZAMINDARI SYSTEM
● Revenue collectors were recognized as permanent owners.
● Zamindari system introduced Governor-General Cornwallis.
● Pay an amount fixed by the Government as revenue.
● They ruthlessly collected the tax even during famines.
● This system came into Bengal, Bihar and Uttar pradesh.
RYOTWARI SYSTEM
● Munro was introduced Ryotwari system.● Land was measured and taking into account
its fertility and irrigation facilities.● Revenue was collected with help of local
Hereditary officers.● There was Periodical assessment of the land
revenue.● This system introduced mostly in southern
and western india.
MAHALWARI SYSTEM
Mahal literally stands for a Taluk. The assessment rates were some what high. Mahaldar was also engaged in cultivation; Zamindari system were also present in this
system. This system was introduced north-western
and central india.
INDUSTRIES
● Introduced of new technologies.● Establishment of cotton textile, jute and paper
industries.● Bombay, Calcutta, Madras and Ahmedabad,
as new industrial centre.● Indian cottage industries destroyed.
EDUCATION
● Western education opened the gates of western knowledge and science.
