Shadowing a
Caregiver By Melissa Regalado
Caregiving is all about taking care of elderly people that can’t do essential things in life by themselves.
A caregiver is responsible for the
person’s cleanliness. They bathe them, trim their nails, do
their hair, and sometimes change
their diaper.
Sometimes the person the caregiver is taking care of has some mental disorder,
like Alzheimer’s disease.
My mom takes care of a patient with
Alzheimer’s disease and it seems very
difficult because they are always getting
confused with events happening at the time.
Caregiving seems like a hard job because you are dealing with elderly people that may be stubborn and confused. It’s a noble job because not a lot of people do it, sometimes not even family members.
