We are sad that Mindy is leaving us to make bread. Mindy has been an outstanding member of our staff and will be missed! We join together to wish her and her family the
most success with their new business. I like cinnamon buns with a lot of icing. Mindy you are always welcome to drop by
with the goodies.

August provided us an abundant of rain fall and our golf course has flourished because of it. Conditions are setting up to be an excellent fall for golf. Maintenance Mondays have proven to be a positive in improving course conditions. One of the more important agronomic practices that we accomplish on Mondays is top dressing or adding sand to greens. For the season over 175 tons of sand has been applied to greens. This aides in many different areas affecting playability and health of the greens. On the playability side smoothness and speed are enhanced with the addition of sand. Health wise sand helps control thatch and allows roots to become more secure for the cold months ahead. Sod has been added to many areas around the course and will be completed this month. Any areas that are thin will be over seeded with rye or fescue seed and reevaluated next season. Irrigation improvement is ongoing and we hope to have more tees automated this month. I would like to thank all of you for your comments and suggestions and as always I can be reached at [email protected].

Jeff Engelhaupt – General Manager
Dear Members,
I have heard several compliments regarding the course so I want to take a moment to thank Rick Durham, Rex Jarvis, and the rest of the maintenance team for doing such a great job this year. It started off a bit rocky with the cold winter we had, but efforts made by the entire team have the course looking great right now!
September and October will prove to be pivotal month for our event schedule. We have several events in September to partake in including a package event, couples event, a half priced guest day and our second glow golf night of the year. October will host the always fun and exciting Fall Member-Member where we play 5 nine hole match play events. Be sure to sign up early so that we can properly prepare scorecards, proximity games, cart numbers, and towels!
Finally, I want to wish Mindy Glatefelter much success in her and her family’s future endeavors. We will surely miss Mindy’s presence here at Wildwood Green. She was such a big help to us (and me personally) over the past four and a half years…it will truly not be the same without her here!

Dan Alton – First Assistant
Members, thank you for all of the participation thus far this year with our events! Highlighted events this September are Package Event #5 on the 9th at 9:00am, Couples Golf on September 16th at 5:00pm, & Glow Golf on September 29th at 7:30pm. We are looking forward to seeing all out there! Tips From the Pro: Most amateur golfers struggle with making square contact consistently. Usually the reason for this is because they try to stay very still and the only thing moving are the hands and the club. When the hands move underneath a still head with no body movement - the hands flip! When your hands flip, the club face can be in a variety of different positions making it difficult to find square contact. Simply by moving your head with your swing will help you "pull" a square club face into the golf ball, making solid contact. Put simply, you've got to move!

Mindy Glatfelter – Golf Shop Manager I write to inform you all that I have decided to join my family in a business opportunity and will be leaving Wildwood Green Golf Club. My last day in the golf shop will be Monday, September 3rd. We have decided to all go into business together, buy a bakery and put the pressure on my sister’s baking talents. We are all very excited for this opportunity but it is sad to be leaving the club behind. I would like to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for making it a great place to be the past 4.5 years that I have worked here. I have gained many friendships throughout the time and I wish you all the best. I will still be coaching the Cardinal Gibbons golf team here at Wildwood Green so I look forward to catching up with everyone at the golf course this Fall. There are a lot of improvements planned over the next couple years for Wildwood Green Golf Club that I am sure you will all love. They also have a lot of great events planned for the remaining Fall season such as Couples Golf, Glow Golf, the last two Package Events and the MGA League End Event. Also coming up is the most popular event, our Fall Member-Member. Be sure to find your partner and look out for this upcoming event information. Thank you again for your kindness and being a member of Wildwood Green Golf Club. I wish the club the
best of luck in the next couple years while they work towards switching over to a private facility.
