Company History, Mission and Culture
Paul Sauer founded Homewatch CareGivers in 1980 based on the
mission of caring for his clients, employees and community through
exceptional home care services.
The first franchised location opened in the mid-1990s, and for the
next several decades, the family continued to build the business and
expand the footprint nationally and internationally.
The company was acquired by Authority Brands, LLC in 2017, and
then-president Julie Smith was also named CEO. Authority Brands
continues to grow its home services brand portfolio by adding
additional concepts.
In Feb 2019, Jennifer Tucker, VP of Marketing and Business
Development, was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and now runs
the franchise support center’s daily operations. Jennifer has been with
Homewatch CareGivers since 2002.
Under the parent company Authority Brands, Homewatch CareGivers
aims to further increase market share, strengthen its position within
the health care continuum and to provide the support franchisees
need to find success and make a difference in their communities.

Senior Care Statistics
Some of the many reasons for the rapidly
increasing home care market:
• More of the population is aging
• Lifespans are longer
• 89% of seniors want to remain at home
• Cases of dementia and other chronic
conditions are increasing as people live longer
The need for private duty home care is rapidly expanding, and will continue to grow as
more of the population ages. Homewatch CareGivers hires home care aides or certified
nursing assistants to provide companionship and personal care services – and in some cases
more complex nursing services – in a client’s home or living facility.
Further statistics support the premise that home
care is a lucrative market:
• About 70 percent of the people age 65 or
older will need long term care services in
their lifetime
• The home care industry is expected to add 1
million jobs from 2012 to 2022 --
