Kraton 230
The entrance of RTV Rijnmond (Kraton 230) is signified by a large semi-structural bonded glass façade. Behind this is the ‘studio square’ next to which the radio and tv studio’s are situated.
To achieve a maximum transparency, no columns have been placed in the façade. The glass façade (750 m²) hangs like a curtain on the two projecting office floors. The glass planes are placed between three ‘wind braces’ and attached to the cantilevering steel con-struction with two rows of steel tension rods. The glass panels haven been attached to the horizontal wind braces with a click-on profile, the vertical openings between the panels have been filled with UV-resistant joint sealing compound.
