SDG Integration: Evidence and Principle-based Approach
The MSDP is structured around 3 Pillars, 5 Goals, 28 Strategies and 238 Action Plans. All are firmly aligned with the SDGs, the 12 Point Economic Policy of the Union of Myanmar, and various regional commitments

What we have done so far regarding SDGs?
1) Capacity development: Awareness raising about the SDGs. About 700 of the Governmentofficials at both national and sub-national level have been trained on the SDGs. ( Organizing Workshop for 3 times )
2) Statistical readiness: Ministry of Planning and Finance assessed Myanmar’s data availability for the measurement of the SDG indicators.
3) Reporting: Myanmar’s first SDG Data Assessment report in 2016 andSDGs Baseline Data Report is published.
4) Partnership: SDG will be one of the important themes for the next cooperation activitiesamong Gov., Private Sector and DPs through Development Assistance Coordination Unit .

➢ Accurate and reliable statistics is the lifeblood of the plan.
➢ Quality of facts and figures is crucial for compilation of reliable statistics….
➢ Reengineering of statistical organizations and coordination mechanism is a must for all countries including Myanmar”
➢ Professionalism
➢ For the policy guidance and as a Coordination mechanism, Data Accuracy and Quality of Statistics Committee is formed.
➢ Strengthening and promoting the Role of CSO
➢ Vertical as well as Horizontal Coordination and cooperation
➢ To be compatible and in line with the country’s reform process
Ongoing Activities
• Continuing meetings for thematic areas of SDGs such as children, vulnerable groups, environment, education private sector, multistake-holders participatory on Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation processes, etc.
• Developing policy recommendations to utilized as inputs for action plans and implementation processes of SDGs in Myanmar.
• Issuing Guidelines on SDGs Indicators Methodology
• Close collaborations with line ministries, development partners and international organizations in respective development projects for the country
