FAQ
Curriculum
How far in advance of the course implementation date will a course syllabus be published and available to faculty?
• The classroom shows scheduled course syllabi for faculty when they are scheduled for a course, usually about 2 weeks out but this varies based on scheduling.
• Faculty will be able to view their approved course syllabi from the Faculty Resources as the courses are published.
New courses that don’t have equivalencies will be published by September 1st
ACCESS:• DOC/700 – Published and available to view in approved courses 4/1• LDR/711A – No change• DOC/705R – forecasted for June, first course starts August• RES/709 – September 1st
Curriculum
How will this impact CARs?
• New courses are being added to existing CARs. Faculty will automatically see these courses in their approved course offerings as they become available.
What is the preferred course sequence and differences in the new courses?
• Please refer to the Preferred Course Sequence and Program Crosswalks available in the Programs Appendix.
Students
When will students be able to switch programs?
• Students can seamlessly change to the new program versions no later than the end of the first year residency.
• After that, please refer students to their academic advisors for individual evaluations. Advisors will evaluate each student’s progression case by case and review their options with them.
• Students who only have their dissertation to complete (ABD) will be advised to stay in their current program as there are more consequences to changing at that point.
