School newsletter Term 1 Week 11
9th April 2019
Dear Parents and friends,
What a Super duper week we all had at Super Camp. I was
very impressed to see each student taking on new learning,
displaying independence when caring for themselves and
showing kindness to their friends. Our thanks goes to all of
the staff, volunteers, students and fellow teachers who
contributed to the success of the camp. Enjoy the photos on
the back page!
Welcome to Sophia Jeffery who is visiting our school for the
remainder of term 1. Sophia is Joan’s Granddaughter who
lives in England.
Welcome to Aaliyah Pollard who is joining us in year one. We
welcome Narelle and Richard to our school community also.
TERM 2 – students return on Tuesday 30th April, 2019.
Thank you afternoon tea for Joan – This Thursday 11 April at
2pm. We ask that current parents bake for the afternoon tea
and assist in serving tea & coffee to our guests. I would
appreciate it if parents could arrive at 1.15pm to help set up.
Easter Raffle- Thank you to you all for selling tickets in this
years Easter Raffle. Please return your money and tickets
TOMORROW.
Connecting Community – Tomorrow, we welcome 3 volunteers to our school along with Glenn
Price, the CEO and founder of Connecting Communities. Glenn and his volunteers are
spending the week on properties around Nymagee and contacted me to see how they
could help at our school. The P&C decided to ask them to assist in installing shade over our
vegetable gardens. This work will take place tomorrow at 9am. PLEASE could Dad’s come to
the school at 9am to help out for 1 hour as Glenn is very keen to meet some of the families.
Thank you to Darren for donating his time and composted soil for this project too.
Premier’s Sporting Challenge – Hermidale PS has signed up for the sporting challenge again.
This will be happening in terms 2 & 3. Students will be given a log book to record the physical
activity that they do each day. Minutes will be updated on the computer and awards will be
presented at the end of the challenge. Will Mudford is our Sporting challenge leader and he
will update the information each week.
