Veteran’s Day Celebration
On Tuesday, November 11th, Castle North Middle School honored the men
and women of our armed forces with a heartwarming, student led program
organized by the sixth-grade Social Studies team. Mrs. Salley and her sev-
enth-grade FACS classes arranged an excellent reception with cookies and
punch for the veterans before the program. Our distinguished guests exited
the reception to a heroes’ welcome through the halls of CNMS. Our Trouba-
dours sang “America the Beautiful” led by Mrs. Hogan followed by a welcome
from Mr. Bertram. After the Pledge of Allegiance, the eighth-grade band
played “The Star-Spangled Banner” directed by Mr. Dailey. Sixth-grade stu-
dents led most of the program which included a visual presentation of a Re-
membrance Table. Seventh-grade students, Lexis Collins and Kayla Oxley,
lead a contributory reading for our guests. Jordan Miller, also a seventh-
grade student, created a beautiful painting that was given to Veteran Jeff
Moffett in celebration of his service to our country. The program concluded
with a medley of the armed forces’ fight songs, and a musical, poster tribute
from the seventh-grade Blue Team and Mrs. Hogan. Finally, Abdullah Atia
and Alexander Hagan closed the ceremony by playing “Taps.”
Thank you to all those who participated in making this celebration a success!
Most of all, a huge thank you to all those who attended our ceremony, and to
all those who have served to preserve our freedoms as American citizens! At
CNMS, we are proud to be Americans!

Studying the Indus River Valley
Mrs. Fussner's 7th grade Social Studies class has been studying the Indus River Valley. The students learned about
meditation and how meditation developed in to yoga during the ancient period of this civilization. Mrs. Carrie Rice, for-
mer teacher at CNMS and friend of Mrs. Fussner, came to CNMS to give the students a hands-on opportunity to ex-
plore yoga for themselves. The students had a great time trying some of the yoga moves and most importantly learning
how to relax.

Earn Cash for our Library!
With the holidays quickly approaching, many of us will be
cooking and baking our favorite recipes. Many of those
recipes will use ingredients that have Labels for Educa-
tion® points on them. Simply clip the points coupon, and
submit them to the library. The library earns points to-
wards the purchase of a Labels for Education® Visa Pre-
paid Card which will help buy new books for your kids! It
is that easy and a great way to support literacy at CNMS!
Please continue to save both Labels for Education and
