22nd December 2015 To Whom It May Concern: This letter confirms that Aymara Evans will be completing a 520 hour, 3 month internship (May 9th to Aug 5th, 2016) in Cape Town, South Africa with supervisor, Jantho Greyling, Head of Medical -MSc in Physical Therapy for AJAX Football Fitness & Conditioning Program. During this time, Aymara will be a full-time unpaid Youth Fitness Intern in Exercise Physiology and Fitness/Wellness. She will be evaluated by her supervisor on 7 SLOs of University of Florida’s APK Student Learning Outcomes explained in the applied examples Site Approval Form. During this time, her supervisor and the Fitness & Conditioning Trainer will take responsibility for Aymara’s duties outlined and approved by University of Florida’s APK SLO requirements. As a Youth Fitness intern, Aymara’s roles will consist of the following:
• Assist in strength sessions and designing age & ability off-season training program.
• Follow Youth Strength Curriculum and education of Youth coaches for strength training
• Design special needs training program for AJAX Youth: SAQ & Technique • Follow and conduct AJAX Cape Town Final Phase Rehab (FFR) protocol • Research and assist in the continual improvement of the Youth Long Term
Athlete Development (LTAD) program in conjunction with the PSL Conditioning Trainer
• Assist and/or carry out AJAX Fitness Testing protocols with all youth teams • Research articles relating to LTAD, updated testing protocols for elite Youth
players and final phase rehabilitation. • Produce a comprehensive report for the Conditioning Trainer and then Head
of Medical, who will report to Youth Coaches and Head of Youth after each testing phase.
• Manage the accumulation of testing data and the norms. • Meet with the S&C and Youth S&C Trainers weekly regarding the conducted

Intern roles and responsibilities:
1. Time Frame and Responsibilities
8:30am to 11am Shadow & Assist Physical Therapists for Senior Team.
Help set up warm-ups. Assist with Rehab work & Conditioning as well as SAQs -Sport Speed, Agility & Quickness.
Youth Programs in the afternoon. 3-6:30pm
U/19 Full Time Sessions: Monday & Tuesday (TBC)
U/19, U/17 and U/15 Sessions: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
Saturday from 09h00 to 12h00 - YOUTH GAMES in various locations
Youth Fitness Intern (YFI) reports directly to Youth S&C -Derek Malone.
U/15, U/17 & U/19 Strength sessions – YFI is Assistant to PSL and Youth S&C
2. Strength Sessions
YFI will follow the Youth Strength Curriculum for the U/15, U/17 and U/19 teams.
YFI will assist with the design of age and ability appropriate strength off-season training
programmes for the Youth Squads at Ajax.
YFI will assist with the education of the Youth Coaches for the strength training programmes.
YFI will be responsible for special need group training sessions for specific players
YFI will record each Strength/Power session
3. SAQ Sessions
YFI will, in conjuction with the S&C Trainers, design age appropriate, positional specific
Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) and Technique training programmes for special needs
Youth players at Ajax.
4. Final Phase Rehab
YFI will follow the Ajax Cape Town Final Phase Rehab (FFR) protocol for specific injuries.
YFI will be responsible for conducting the FFR sessions with injured Youth players.
YFI is to record the FFR sessions and report the players progress to the PSL Conditioning
Trainer before the player is cleared for training.
5. Research
YFI will research and assist in the continual improvement of the Youth Long Term Athlete
Development (LTAD) programme in conjunction with the PSL Conditioning Trainer and
Head of Medical.
YFI will research articles relating to LTAD, updated testing protocols for elite Youth players
and final phase rehabilitation.
6. Fitness Testing
YFI is to assist and/or carry out Ajax Fitness Testing protocols with all youth teams 3 times
per season.
YFI will produce a comprehensive report for the Conditioning Trainer and then Head of
Medical, who will report to Youth Coaches and Head of Youth after each testing phase.
YFI will manage the accumulation of testing data and the norms.
7. Meetings
YFI will be meet with the PSL S&C and Youth S&C Trainers weekly regarding the
conducted Strength, Speed, Final Phase Rehab sessions and the planning thereof.
8. Match Day First Aid
YFI is expected to be available for Match Day 1st Aid representation when it happens that the
Youth Physiotherapists cannot cover all the Youth games. This includes situations when the
Youth Physioʼs are away on tour with a particular squad.
9. Recovery and Supplements
YFI will monitor the current post-training stretching routine for U/15, U/17 and U/19ʼs
YFI will implement recovery protocols for the U/15 and U/17 Youth squads.
YFI will implement recovery protocols for the U/19 Youth squad, and discuss this with the
S&C Trainers
YFI will research supplements that are suitable for use of U/17 and U/19 players in conjuction
with their strength programmes.
YFI will be responsible for producing all necessary supplementation for Youth Players
