Project Overview
• Kick-off meeting in Lisbon 30th-31st March 2009• Working Groups • SAVE ENERGY LL Pilots • SAVE ENERGY Technical Platform Architecture• SAVE ENERGY Serious Game• Technical meeting in Helsinki• Methodology• Dissemination and exploitation• Project meeting in Luleå 29th – 30th June 2009
Kick off Meeting
• Team. Commitment • Project Concept. Methodology • Three thematic Working Groups.
Working Groups
• Working Group Topics: – SAVE ENERGY Pilots– SAVE ENERGY Platform Architecture– SAVE ENERGY Serious Game
• Working Groups last until necessary. • Work Methodology
Pilots Working Group
• Worked on Pilots requirements and implementations plans. Interaction with the corresponding WP
• Developed the methodology to co-create the SAVE ENERGY Pilots
• The questionnaire discussions gradually inproved Pilots and Partners participation stimulating the collaborative SAVE ENERGY Living Lab methodology
• Developed the methodology to involve and commit the users in each Pilot
Pilots Development
• The Pilots in Luleå and Helsinki are well on schedule and in full compliance of the LL methodology.
• The LL Methodology has been co-created in each pilot with the involvement of the end users and shared with the other Pilots.
• The Lisbon Pilot gradually adopted the LL methodology replacing their usually more technological oriented methodology.
• Leiden and Manchester Pilots need to advance with the LL methodology and work more closely with their users in order to recover the schedule. Since the Project M3 both pilots has been showing progressive advance and commitment to align with other pilots progress.

Lights at Entrance Hall
Manual control of lighting
Follow up of energy consumption and lighting
Operation and maintenance
20 units a’ 150 W lamps are continuously on
Evaluating and designing the smart solution for lighting system (new lamp groups, sensor based system, new lamp technology), users learn by displays
Gym HVAC Designing the use of Gym with HVAC
Follow up of energy consumption and HVAC
HVAC control according to the users in gym
HVAC functions poorly, does not care about the number of users
New, sensor based control system for HVAC that notifies the number of users, users learn by displays
Classrooms PC classes (several)
Manual control of lighting and power supply
Follow up of energy consumption and lighting
Operation and maintenance
Unnecessary use of lighting and power, poor quality of air
Reduce the unnecessary use of lighting and power, new sensor based control system, users learn by displays
Corridors Manual of sensor based control of lighting
Manual control if needed
