General Notes1. Verify existing conditions on site prior to starting work.2. Verify location of all surface and underground utilities and
irrigation in field. Preserve and protect utilities and irrigation as required.
3. Sign locations to be staked by Contractor and reviewed in the field by Owner.
4. All dimensions to be considered +/-. Allow field adjust-ments as a result of existing conditions and paving material standard sizes.
5. Installation of Signs in Non-Paved Areas:5.1 Clear and grub planting where present.5.2 Adjust irrigation including relocating sprinklers, drip
irrigation lines and emitters to as not to spray on signs.
5.3 Install footing and sign per drawings.5.4 Fill back excavated areas around installed sign with
earth. Smooth grade to match surrounding areas.5.5 Restore turf in turf areas.5.6 Dispose of excess soil, rock and removed planting.
6. Installation of Signs in Paved Areas:6.1 Saw cut and demolish paving and base.6.2 Install footing and sign per drawings.6.3 Dispose of demolished paving and stone.

I. GENERAL
1.01 DescriptionLandscape edging as a border between planting beds,pathways, drives, mulch & rock division, or anywhereseparation and definition is required.
1.02 SubmittalsManufacturer’s literature along with a sample 3" section ofspecified size and finish if requested.
1.03 DeliveryMaterial should be ordered and accepted in originalshipping cartons of standard size and stored in a flat area.Please note quantities per skid are 400', and due toweight, will require unloading equipment.
II. PRODUCT
2.01 ProductAs provided by Sure-loc Corporation of Holland, MI or approved equal. Edging to be in 16' sections.
2.02 MaterialEdging to be manufactured from steel with interlockingsystem and stake punch outs fabricated in each strip.
2.03 Locking SystemSections to lock together without offset or double thicknessat the joints and secured with two 12" stakes at every joint.
2.04 Size• 3/16" thickness.
2.05 FinishSteel edging to be powder coated, baked on enamelsupplied in brown.
2.06 StakesStakes are to be a minimum of 15" long. All stakes manufac-tured of steel.
III. EXECUTION
3.01 Site InspectionCheck to ensure that all underground lines, irrigationhoses, and other cables are installed below the maximumdepth of edging to be used.
3.02 TrenchUsing a spade or mechanical trencher, cut a trench along area to be defined to depth so that top of edging will not exceed 1/2" above finish grade.
3.03 InstallationInstall edging with stake pockets on inside of bed. Top ofedging not to exceed 1/2" above finish grade as shownbelow.
3.04 StakingA minimum of 4 stakes per section are to be used witheach section of edging.
3.05 Back FillingBack fill on both sides of edging during installation leavingno more than two sections unsupported at one time.Compact back fill along edging ensuring that top edge isno more than 1/2" above finish grade.
