@Sander Chan
The number of UNFCCC recorded actions/actors continues to grow
The expanding groundswell of climate action by non-state and subnational actors has spread to every corner of the world
Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America see most activities implemented by climate cooperative initiatives
Climate cooperative initiatives deliver across the broad range of SDGs
The potential of climate initiatives is enormous. To be consistent with
1.5/2C, initiatives must be scaled and commitments must be kept
Gaps between North and South in climate cooperative initiatives persist. Most outputs are produced in high-income countries
Between 2013 and 2018, the share of higher-performing initiatives has grown significantly. More than 60 percent have
produced outputs that could help them achieve positive environmental and social outcomes
Priorities for 2019 • Global climate action is crucial to deliver
NDCs and to raise ambition
• Set enabling frameworks for effective delivery on commitments
• Develop financial & business models to shift investments in line with a 1.5°C world
• Strengthen climate action in developing countries
