The S-ray Scan provides a crystal-clear diagnostic picture of how aligned people and teams are with the organisation’s purpose, strategy and goal.
Without execution, even a winning strategy is only a plan. High-performance doesn’t come from winning plans; it comes from the execution of winning plans that are driven by purpose. If your people don’t align with the purpose and strategy, they will follow their own, often disconnected, “strategies”, resulting in uncoordinated effort, hampered teamwork and in the end suboptimal performance.

What is the S-ray Scan?
As an X-ray shows the internal structure of the human body, S-ray makes the internal structure of an organisation visible. Replace X with S, for strategy, and you arrive at S-ray.
The S-ray Scan is an advanced tool to measure alignment within the organisation across different business units, functions and teams. It provides an accurate image of the current situation of which business units, functions and teams are strategically aligned with the CEO and the top executive team and which ones are disaligned and to what extent. Zooming in on the unaligned units and teams, the S-ray Scan provides the evidence-based assessment of alignment drivers so one can act upon these causes in order to enhance strategic alignment. The scan consists of three intergated components. Together these components provide a state-of-the-science tooling and the expertise necessary to realign the entire company.

6-Step S-Ray Diagnostics Process
Delivery lead-times vary from two to four months, depending upon the size, complexity and maturity of the business case. Running a single measure-ment event requires the following delivery steps:

1. Understanding Context - Defining and drafting the key statements
from the business strategy.
2. Organisational Insight - Intake from key persons within the orgnisation
and selecting key alignment drivers.
3. Scan Preparation - Configuring the S-ray scan infrastructure with
business specific content
4. Scan Execution -Inviting the organization, collecting data (online) and
progressing response
5. Scan Analytics - Quantifying and visualizing alignment diagnostic
scores and alignment driver assessments.
6. Detecting Barriers - Interpreting and feeding back outcomes and
consequences during learning workshops.

How S-ray Scan Works
The S-ray Scan is a 2 in 1 tool: It connects the diagnosis of alignment with the drivers of alignment. The alignment diagnosis is based on a scientifically validated and patented measurement method, developed at Erasmus University Rotterdam. This method visualizes through infographics whether and to what extent organisational units such as teams and departments work in line with the strategy as set out by the executive team. Usually unalignment is the rule rather than the exception – especially when conducting a baseline measurement. The logical next question: now what? The answer to that question will be provided for by the integrated assessment of alignment drivers. These driving powers of alignment have been scientifically determined and provide specific anchor points for the design of leadership and/or organisational development programs. Such, that these programs will actually contribute to enhancing strategic alignment and consequently improving company performance.
