The startup ecosystem has the potential to add $4 billion to the
State of Victoria’ s economy.
Melbourne has six unicorns - more than any other state in
Australia.
One in five startups are in health, wellbeing or sports and they
attract more VC funds than other sectors
There are over 2,700 startups in Victoria, contributing jobs and
driving economic development.

also aims to support diverse and

drive interest in
entrepreneurship across all of

• Either sell the business or grow it to be large enough to list on stock exchange
• Focused on entering the national or export market
• Provide innovation and a business model that can disrupt the industry

• Concentrate on stability & sustainability – usually remaining small in size
• Do not usually seek to dominate a sector
• Are not globally focused

GRANT PROGRAM SUMMARY
Meetups, events, hackathons, educational courses, mentoring, bootcamps, incubator programs, accelerator programs, programs for investors and other programs
Funding up to $250k per application $2mil total funding available
Demonstrate experience delivering similar programs to startups, startup entrepreneurs or investors
Proposed project must support one or more LaunchVic strategic focus areas
