Secretarys Report, July 2018
Hi all, Happy Winter! I hope you all enjoy the cold and the time away from the breeds rings as much as I do. My ponies are all fluffy (and sometimes muddy) yaks, which makes them so very cute! Though I do dread moulting & clipping time. We still have upcoming our Highpoint awards & AGM in July, and everyone is welcome to attend and have a nice lunch with us. Details are further in the newsletter. Our AGM is this year being held on the same date as our Highpoint awards. This is a boring but necessary meeting.. It determines how interested members are in seeing The Pinto Association continue. Following the constitution means we have to have a certain number of current members attend the AGM, or the Pinto Association will not be able to continue in the new year. Last year we only just made the minimum attendance so please, if you would like to see us continue, come along! I promise we will try and make it as quick as we can :) Nomination forms for committee are also in this newsletter, so if you would like to join have input in what goes on, please fill in the form and return it before the closing date. I would like to take this opportunity to mention that having held the secretary position for a while now, my (paid) job requirements have increased dramatically over the last 12 months which has resulted in me having less time to organise Pinto SA things. This includes memberships, registrations, shows and general enquiries. I totally get the importance of providing a timely service to members, which is WHY I am mentioning this here.. I am out the door at 630 in the morning, and not home again until 7pm. While I am happy to continue in this role whilst I am needed, I would REALLY encourage anyone who would like to think about joining the committee or taking over the Secretary role to do so… What I want for the association is the best service possible, and that is a waaay bigger priority than me being the go-to. So if no one steps up, I apologise in advance– I am getting things done as soon as I have time, but I will be a fair bit slower than it really should be. HIGHPOINT- As you are aware, the Committee decided that we would change up our highpoint program for last season. This has had the desired effect of condensing entrants into our fewer categories– meaning our costs are covered for this season. Seems to have worked well! Anyway, fingers crossed going into the new season we will have success in our events and people interested in attending. Remember, if you have ANY ideas about a show or event you would like to Pintos SA to attend, please let me know! I’m always on the lookout for some new things for us to do.
Candice Pridham Secretary, Pinto Association of SA Inc.

Notice Board
Online Applications & Entries This season we are rolling out on a trial basis online forms & payments for
membership & some other services. We expect some bugs to work out, but
hopefully the aim is to reduce instances of paperwork getting lost in the
mail and lest postal charges for members. These are found on our website.
***************************************************************
Honorary Memberships– IMPORTANT A reminder to our honorary life members that you are still required to fill out and return a
membership form and Livestock Audit to be considered ‘Currently Financial’. This is
simply so we can keep up to date with your contact details and what horses are currently
registered in South Australia.
***************************************************************
Sponsors: We are always in need of sponsors to enable us to continue
running our shows. Even a small amount can help with the cost of ribbons,
judges and ground hire. If you or someone you know might like to help us with
this, please let one of our committee members know. *****************************************************
