Campus Master Plan
Our Building Review Committee has been working to develop a master plan for our church campus for sever-al months. The committee has selected Bobby Patterson from Architectural Design Associates as the architect for the facilities. Bobby presented the first draft of a concept for our church at our annual meeting. These are computer generated images of what our campus could look like from Church Street and on the inside.

Let’s get those shoeboxes in to meet our goal of 425 boxes. You can also donate shipping cost, which is $9/box. RAs will pack boxes in September, using donated items, and 6th graders will deliver finished shoeboxes in November. A group of adults will go to the processing center in Charlotte near the end of November to check boxes. This wonderful mission project which shares the gospel around the world involves a large number of people of all ages.
Families, remember the start date for regular Wednesday night groups is September 4. There is a place for the whole family beginning with supper, leading into discipleship groups for adults, choirs for older preschoolers and children, and concluding with mission groups for preschoolers and children. When parents finish earlier than children, come to room 306 for conversation and service projects. Check the front page for a detailed schedule.
The Growing Place kicked off their new school year with an open house for families followed by a meal for staff. Families met new teachers, toured classrooms, and transferred belongings to new rooms. This first-time event was designed to introduce new families to The Growing Place and to make the changes smoother for parents and children who are currently enrolled.
HeartSpace Ministry oversees a property that is used as a transition house for men who have been down and out and want to turn their lives around. For the last two years it has mainly been a safe place for them to live, find jobs and return to a regular life.
The ministry is now launching the next step for the transition house and the men who reside there. Starting in September the residents embark upon the next journey in life, their spiritual walk. The residents now have their own small group which meets on Tuesday evenings; they also attend three other meetings a week. These include Sunday morning worship services, Wednesday evening discipleship groups, AWE worship service, Men of Steel (recovery group) and Celebrate Recovery.
The residents will each have a mentor and will receive counseling weekly. We are looking forward to the journey of discipleship with these men.
September is here and Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Last year the Community Thanksgiving dinner was a huge success and touched over 300 people in our community who may not have had a Thanksgiving meal. I want to thank again all the volunteers who made this mission to feed and pray for those we ministered to so special. It is
our hope that we can once again be salt and light on Thanksgiving while spending some time extending the love of Christ. May we impact our community in a way that those we minister to will see the church, the Body of Christ, in a meaningful way so they will want to join a faith community.
Contact Janet or Rick Davis for more information on how you can help during the Community Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 28.

Thank you so much for all the prayers, cards, visits and calls during my eye surgery and recovery. God is good. From seeing nothing in the left eye, my sight is gradually being restored. Please continue to pray for me as I continue through this medical process.
Terrie McDowell
Thank you for lifting me and my brother’s family up in prayer during this difficult time. The thoughtful words, cards, and donations were very much appreciated.
Julie Weathers
We would like to thank the “Handyman Ministry” of FBC for their work in providing us with a ramp that will enable Vincent to use his wheelchair outside. It is a blessing we will be thankful for everyday. The “crew” completed the job in record time!
Vincent & Eleanor Wieczorek
Thank you so much for the wheelchair ramp built for the Wieczorek family. They shared with us how amazing the ramp building crew was and how much they loved their ramp. Asheboro FBC is such a blessing to the community.
Renee Adkins/NCBAM
Thank you for all the loving cards and encouragement sent to me after my recent surgery. I’m sure your faithful prayers have helped me heal.
