After the roaring success of SUPRA SAEINDIA 2014 which was held at Madras Motor Race
Track, Chennai. SAEINDIA is pleased to organize, SUPRA SAEINDIA 2015 Event in July
2015 for the students of the Engineering Institutes all over India
As an event that challenges young minds to compete as teams in designing a Formula
category vehicle, there is no other event like this in the country. To develop a vehicle consisting of various sub systems, meeting engineering specifications, timelines and above
all meeting safety standards is a challenge not for the faint hearted. And then making the
rubber hit the road at a premium race track under gazing eyes of experienced technical
experts and other enthusiasts is a thrill not just for the participants, but for the mobility
community at large.
As a one year long challenge across multiple stages comprising of design defence (“Virtual Supra” in event language), multiple rounds of technical inspections and actual construction
of the vehicle, this event helps shape future engineers through competitive spirit and
encompasses all elements of a vehicle building for aesthetics in design, to the choice of
parts, through structure design and modelling, to fabrication and testing. This event sets
the stage to assess the capability for teamwork, entrepreneurship, leadership and management skills of the ‘students.
110 teams constituting the crème de la crème, selected on criteria such as Engineering
Design, Design Validation, Project plan, from various Engineering Colleges across the
country, will strive for a place on the podium. This event provides a real world engineering
challenge for the SAEINDIA Student members that reflect the steps involved in the entire
process from design development, building prototype, and production to marketing and endurance confirming to well laid down criteria. This helps the objective of bringing out
student talent to serve the nation for the years to come, in fulfilment of the Automotive
Mission Plan (AMP 2016) a dream to make India an International Automotive Hub. We
invite you to come and kindle your innovative ideas and creativity to experience engineering
better than the best.

Journey of Team VR-25
Our supra vehicle which has been built by our team VR-25 with passion, dedication and
more interest towards activity was loaded in the truck on 30th June 2016. The vehicle is
reached the main event i.e. Buddh international circuit and we took the vehicle in to the pit
which is provided by SAE.
Buddha international circuit
Our college Team titled VR25 involved 25 members from SE to BE Mechanical Engineering.
There is so much to learn from our mistakes, failure e is just another chapter. Even though
we did not clear the racing event, there were so many things this competition taught us. Right from sponsorship, building the car to building a strong team spirit.
Result of SAE SUPRA INDIA 2016
I am very happy to announce that our team has secured 42nd rank out of 172 teams in the
national level SAE competition. This shows the team dedication, passion and interest to
words the activity.
Day 1 4th July 2016
First day our team has registered the vehicle and they got there ID cards for the event entry
and worked on the vehicle such as harness, brake bleeding and other small correction done
on the vehicle because they had to face technical inspection on the next day.
Day 2 5th July 2016
Students Working on the Car
The second day we were went for technical inspection the judges were inspected the vehicle
on the suspension, brake pedal, accelerator pedal and clutch pedal other the that every
other parts like steering, engine, chassis etc… So, he told to modify and called for the next
attempt.
Day 3 6th July 2016
The third day we have done all the modification on the vehicle. We have changed the
mounting points of suspension to stiffen the suspension in the hot pit. The line was very
long that we waited for welding for a long time and we have done the work.
Day 4 7th July 2016
Fourth day started the static events. We have presented the design report in front of judges.
They have asked many questions on the design and analysis and our students given the
answers very efficiently. Which was appreciated by the judges and also they appreciated the
chassis design.
Day 5 8th July 2016
Fifth day we were cleared the technical inspection by Indian judges. But unfortunately
foreign judge have given suggestion on the vehicle. And parallel the business presentation
given by our team. Appreciation given by the judges.
Design and cost Evaluation
